Description
I view surface topography as the universal underpinning of form. I love to find texture within compositions and compositions within texture. Tree bark is a fascinating source of limitless visual topographies, perfect for putting the viewer in a mediatative state. You will see many variations within the same tree while the tree remains on a larger level, recognizable as one and the same tree. On a micro level, one can often see the actual pores of the wood. I can stare at this one for quite awhile, always seeing it in different ways.
